What is a credit?

A credit is the universal spend unit across every Hermes Data product — one balance funds them all. 1 credit = 1 contact or dealer · 5 credits = 1 dealer group. When you unlock a full record, the cost is debited from your balance: a verified contact is 1 credit, a dealership (rooftop) record is 1 credit, and a parent dealer group is 5 credits. The same wallet works everywhere, so you decide how to spend it.

How do the plans differ?

Every plan grants a monthly credit allowance you can spend across any product — Contacts, Dealers, or Dealer Groups — from one shared wallet. Starter ($99/mo, 150 credits) and Growth ($249/mo, 500 credits) differ only in how many credits you get each month. Scale ($999/mo, 5,000 credits) has the largest allowance and also adds the dealer-group filters and group-level columns to your Contacts exports.

Do unused credits roll over?

Yes — unused credits roll over forever and never expire. If you cancel, your balance is paused but kept; resume any time to use it. Top-up credits behave the same way.

Can I switch plans?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Upgrade and the unused portion of your current plan is credited toward today's bill for the new tier — you only pay the difference, and your new credit allowance is added instantly. Downgrade and the change takes effect at your next renewal, so you keep the credits and features you've already paid for through the end of the cycle. You can cancel a scheduled downgrade any time before it kicks in.

What happens if I cancel?

Your subscription stays active in Stripe until the end of your current billing period. Credits you've already earned never expire — they're kept on your account, just paused until you resume. Reactivate any time and your full balance is available again instantly, no card charge required. Exception: if you have an evergreen coupon redeemed on your account, ordering stays live throughout (and after) the cancelling window — evergreen access doesn't depend on a subscription.

How do I update my card?

What happens if my card fails?

Stripe retries automatically for a few days. While in 'past due' state, ordering still works (so your campaign isn't blocked). If retries keep failing, your subscription expires and credit ordering pauses until you update the card.

Do you offer refunds?

We don't issue cash refunds. For confirmed bad rows — hard bounce or wrong person — send proof to hello@hermesdata.io or via chat within 30 days of the order, and we'll credit 5× credits per row back to your wallet after a 2-business-day review.

What's the cap on a single order?

A single order is capped at 25,000 records, and the cap applies per product — whether you're ordering contacts, dealers, or dealer groups. If you need more than that, split it into multiple smaller orders.

Our systems run 24/7 and keep every contact current within 30 days on average — no ancient lists from unfocused data brokers. Job-title changes, new hires, departures, and re-locations flow through within days of being detected.

Every email is verified before it lands in your export. We don't ship risky or unverified addresses — if it's in your CSV, it's safe to use.

What if I buy the same contact twice?

Our system won't let you. If the same person later changes role, location, or contact info, you'll be able to enrich their new record — that's a legitimately new lead.

What if I find a contact who's clearly out of date?

We don't want to give you bad data. When a contact disappears from your purchasable pool or your My Contacts list, that's because the person has moved rooftops — our way of making sure you don't waste outreach on stale targets. If you do hit a confirmed bad row (hard email bounce, wrong person returned), email proof to hello@hermesdata.io or chat us — we review within 2 business days and credit 5× credits per confirmed bad row back to your wallet. Reports must be submitted within 30 days of the order being placed.

Can I get a sample before buying?

Group data covers the parent-group name, total rooftop count, and combined inventory across the group — useful when your offering scales with footprint and you want to focus on the groups your solution actually fits.

Group-level intelligence is our most-requested premium feature and the heaviest to maintain (we constantly verify ownership/rollup changes). It's reserved for Scale and Enterprise plans, where the volume justifies the work.

The filter shows up in the UI on every plan so you know it exists — but it's locked unless you're on Scale. Upgrade and the lock disappears immediately, and you'll see the fields on your next exports.
