Florida vehicle listingsfranchised and independent alike

1,469,886 live Florida listings on August 30, 2026, carried by a franchised base far smaller than that volume suggests. Independent rooftops and aggregate platforms make up the difference - and every row tells you which website the car was advertised on.

Does the Florida vehicle listings API cover independent dealers?

Yes, and in Florida that is most of the story. The API held 1,469,886 live Florida listings on August 30, 2026, close to the largest state pools in the catalog, while FADA counts 939 new-car dealerships in the state, employing an average of 95 people each. Those two numbers only fit together because the catalog is built by scanning 67,091 dealer websites and the major aggregate platforms rather than by licensing a franchise roster, so independent and used-only rooftops are in it on the same footing and under the same schema. For a marketplace or a merchandising tool, that is the practical difference: the supply you are missing today is usually the supply a franchise-only vendor never had. Every row names the website it came from, and the dealer routes turn that website back into the dealership behind it.

Independent supply, identical schema

A listing from a small independent lot returns the same fields as one from a metro franchise store: VIN, year, make, model, trim, odometer, price, condition, location and the website it was advertised on. Split the mix with the new and certified flags. Across the catalog, 5.5% of listings are certified pre-owned, which is worth knowing before you build a product around CPO supply - it is a narrow slice of what is actually for sale.

The same car, listed twice

Multiple listings can share a VIN when one car is advertised at more than one rooftop or relisted after a price change, which is why unique VINs run below the listing count. A VIN lookup on /v1_2/listings/vehicles/:key returns the competing claims on that car alongside the representative listing, so a marketplace can collapse duplicates instead of double-counting supply and quoting a market that does not exist.

Resolve a website to the dealership behind it

/v1_2/listings/dealers/resolve/:site_id turns a dealer site id into the business running it - its id, its name, how the link was made, and its sibling sites. It always answers 200: a site we cannot place comes back as unknown rather than a 404, so you can resolve a whole market without per-row error handling. The batch route takes up to 500 site ids for a single scan charge.

Photos come as URLs, at 5 millicredits a record

Ask for the full record and you get options, features, packages, seller phones and emails, photo URLs and links back to the dealer's own listing page - about 200 full records per credit. We hand you the dealer's URLs rather than rehosting the images, so fetch them at the point of use and do not assume they live forever. Search rows stay lean, which is why paging them is an order of magnitude cheaper.

Compliance & sourcing

Photos, listing text and the dealer's own listing page belong to the dealer who published them. We pass through URLs rather than copies, so what you display and how you attribute it sits between you and the source - and a URL that worked this morning is not guaranteed to work next year. On the data itself, our terms license you to build and sell derived products, a marketplace feature and a pricing model included, while reserving the listings: you may not resell or redistribute them, or a substantial portion of them, as an extractable dataset. Seller phones and emails from a full record are what the dealer published on the listing, licensed for your own use and not for resale as a contact list.

Frequently asked questions

How many vehicle listings are live in Florida?

1,469,886 on August 30, 2026, one of the largest state pools in a catalog of 19,349,581 live listings. We publish the measured figure rather than a rounded-up one, and it changes daily with dealer inventory. The per-region rollup at /v1_2/listings/stats/region gives you the same number alongside every other state and province, for one aggregate charge.

Does the Florida data include independent and used-only dealers?

Yes. Coverage is built by scanning 67,091 dealer websites and the major aggregate listing platforms, so a rooftop is in the catalog because it advertises inventory online, not because it holds a franchise. That matters most in a state whose franchised base is small relative to its listing volume - the independent and used-only stores are where a large part of Florida supply actually sits.

How do I tell when two Florida listings are the same car?

Match on VIN, then use the VIN lookup route to see it directly. Looking a car up by VIN returns the representative listing plus the other claims on that VIN, so you can tell one car advertised at three rooftops from three separate cars. Unique VINs running below the total listing count across the catalog is the same effect measured in aggregate.

Can I show dealer photos in my own product?

The full record returns photo URLs and links back to the dealer's listing page - we serve the URLs, not copies of the images, so you are fetching each photo from the dealer's own host at display time. Building a product on top of the data is explicitly licensed, including a marketplace or merchandising surface; redistributing the underlying listings as a dataset is not. Treat image URLs as perishable and refresh them on your own cadence.
